Wilder vs Breazeale Saturday May 18th

This past Saturday night in Brooklyn, NY at the Barclays Center SHOWTIME featured its 14th heavyweight world title fight. There is a resurgence in the heavyweight division, and this past Saturday night saw the reign continue for the current WBC Heavyweight Champion. Not too often will the WBC Champ Deontay Wilder face a fighter that will look him in the eye, though that would be the case in this weekend’s fight.

Canelo vs Jacobs Saturday Night in Las Vegas

Saturday night, in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Cinco De Mayo weekend, the Middleweight Unification Championship belt was on the line at T-Mobile Arena. There was not a lot of hoopla leading up to this fight between two historically modest champions. That certainly changed quickly, at the pre-fight weigh when Canelo Alvarez (51-1-2 5KO’s) and Daniel Jacobs (35-2 29 KOs) swapped sweat as their foreheads collided. This caused the energy and anticipation for this Championship Fight to grow instantly.

The Los Angeles Clippers Proved to be More than Expected This Season

At the start of the NBA season, the outlook of the Los Angeles Clippers wasn’t terribly exciting. With the league’s best player relocating to the team across town. On a cooler than usual night in Carson, CA., boxing fans were given another wonderful fight card to enjoy this weekend promoted by Premier Boxing Champions on FOX Sports. Dignity Health Sports Park hosted this fight card which headlined Philadelphia bred Danny “Swift” Garcia (32-2, 21 KOs) versus Chicago born Adrian Granados (20-7-2, 14 KOs). This fight would put two of the toughest welterweights seeking a chance to reclaim their individual stardom.

Coming off consecutive shutouts the Black and Gold have now gone 298 consecutive minutes without allowing a goal. FC Cincinnati was coming off a tie game with Sporting FC, which LAFC happened to beat a few weeks ago. Additionally, this matchup with FC Cincinnati will be the first-ever matchup between the two clubs.

LA Clippers Opened Clippers Community Courts in Watts With Community Activist Stix

Last week, on the shared campus of University Pathways Public Service Academy High School (“The U”) and Charles Drew Middle School the L.A. Clippers introduced Clippers Community Courts in partnership with American Airlines. This is certainly consistent with their efforts to make the Los Angeles community a better place with their multitude of events they’ve hosted all year, around the city.
