The UCLA football team dug themselves a hole and nearly

came out of it.

With just over nine minutes into the game the Bruins trailed Oregon State by twenty-one points on its way to a 48-31 win.

The bright thing about the Bruins were they fought back and at one point outscored the Beavers 31-10.

Austin Burton got his first start subbing for the injured Darian Thompson Robinson. Burton threw 236 yards and a touchdown while going 27 of 41 with no interceptions.

The 6-2 197 pound redshirt sophomore showed signs of readiness as he scrambled several times for key yards.

Demetric Felton rushed for 111 yards on 11 carries including a 75 yarder for a score.

“There’s no one more disappointed than we are right now, so that’s part of the process  and we have to work through it,” said UCLA Head Coach Chip Kelly. ”When you’re a young team your going to make some mistakes.”

OSU QB Jake Luton completed 18 of 26 passes for 285 yards and five touchdowns for the Beavers (1-5). Isaiah Hogkins had 10 catches for 123 yards and 3 touchdowns.
