Recipe of the Week: Fried Tilapia

Fried Tilapia

Ingredients

1 5 lb bag of Tilapia
Salt and pepper
1 package Louisiana Fish Fry seasoning
1/2 cup white or yellow cornmeal (optional)
1/2 cup buttermilk (optional)
Dash of yellow mustard and hot sauce (optional)

Directions

In a large skillet or fryer heat a generous amount of oil ( make sure your oil is very hot the hotter the grease the crisper the fish.

In one bowl, mix seasoning and cornmeal together.
In a separate bowl, mix buttermilk, hot sauce and mustard.

Dip one piece of fish at a time into the buttermilk mixture, making sure each piece is completely covered. Then dip fish into cornmeal mixture and continue coating the fish.

By now your grease should be piping hot. Begin putting the fish in one at a time being careful not to overcrowd the skillet.

Once fish has fried, place on paper towel to drain the excess oil.

For extra flavor drizzle with lemon juice and hot sauce.
